PRECEPTS BIBLE STUDY

A precept is a command, and the precept study method is the one given to us by the Most High to enable us to understand his word (Isa 28:9-11). Since a precept is a command, we cannot throw out his commandments if we are to understand the word.

So precept must be upon precept (command upon command), line upon line upon line, here a little, there a little. That is how we will get understanding!

 

Just a Word Precepts Bible Study

The precept bible study method is the only true way we can get a good understanding from the Bible. Indeed it was told to us in the book of Isaiah that it will give us knowledge and understanding (Isa 28:9-10).

Isa 28:9  Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 
Isa 28:10  For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: 

However, it is not everyone who can teach or learn this way. If we are self-serving, stubborn, religious, then the same Isaiah 28 tells us that the same precept upon precept will destroy us. Take a look:

Isa 28:12  To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. 
Isa 28:13  But the word of YAHUAH was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

So, if we are not seeking the truth in humility: if in any way we are not in accordance with the will of the Most High, then we are going to be in trouble as we will be easily deceived through the same precept method that gives another person clarity!

Hence this website presents our precept bible study with this in mind. We are ensuring that whatever we write is not conclusions that we draw, but that precept upon precept are carefully handled so as to lead us to the truth.
