How Matthew 25 Proves the False Church System

Matityahu 25 contains the parable of the separation of the sheep and the goat. Unknown to most of us, it shows us what a true assembly should be. It also spiritually shows up the false church system that we have today.

Our previous posts were focused on why most of us are following a false messiah. Another looked at why church is a false institution. This post about the Matthew 25 parable is the perfect follow-up to the 2 previous posts.

The parable in question is in effect telling us, that many of us will be condemned by how we treat the least of those in our assembly.

How many of us realized this before? Well, I didn’t initially, until it hit me.

The Least of These My Brothers

Initially, I had thought it meant how we treated everyone. On closer examination, I realised it was specifically about how brother (or sister) treated brother (or sister) in the assemblies!

Here is the parable.

Mat 25:31 — 40 “When the Son of Man comes in his splendour, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.

Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.

Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,

I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’

Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Master, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?

And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?

And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

And the King will answer them, Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

 

The final verse 40 is most telling. First of all it refers to the LEAST. Most importantly, the least of whom? the least of these my brothers.

The least of these my brothers?

Whose brothers?

The Messiah’s brothers!

 

Who are his brothers?

Mat 12:49 — Mat 12:50
And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

And again.

Heb 2:11 — Heb 2:12
For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the assembly will I sing praise unto thee.

So the least of these his brothers doesn’t refer to everyone. It refers to those in the body of Messiah, which is his assembly.

Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Mashiach is the head of the called out assembly: and he is the saviour of the body.

In effect, Matityahu 25 is telling us that we will be judged HARSHLY by how we treat those who are in our assemblies!

 

Why the First Assembly in Acts is Totally Different from the “Church” of Today

Now if you study the first assembly in Acts and compare it with the church of today, you will no doubt realize that ‘church’ is totally different from the original called out assembly (ekklesia).

Welcome to the false church system.

Take a look at the stark differences in the table below:

Next, match the table with the parable in Matthew 25. You will see that the way of life in a perfectly running Acts assembly would make us able to treat our brothers well.

Living in humility and love, sharing and caring would be normal day to day living…no extra effort needed. We would be able to fulfil the Matthew 25 parable successfully.

 

The Ekklesia in Acts: the righteous assembly

The assembly in the book of Acts was designed for us so we can be the righteous ones (Mat 25:31-40). Just think about it after you look at the table in the column that says Ekklesia. Now an assembly like that will definitely cater for:

1) the hungry in need of food
2) the thirsty in need of drink
3) the stranger in need of welcome
4) the naked in need of clothing
5) sick in need of a visit
6) the persecuted (in prison) in need of a visit

Now do you see the wisdom in the model ecclesiastical assembly in Acts 4?!

 

Church: the Unrighteous Assembly

Contrast that with the column that says ‘Church.’ Don’t you see that this is the institution that is almost sure to get us condemned according to Matthew 25?!

This is the importance of following YHWH’S instructions to the tee. This is why we were told:

Deu 5:32 Ye shall observe to do therefore as YHWH your Elohim hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

Now I clearly see the folly in the created “church.” This is a European institution of man and not the called out assembly described in Acts 4. A “church” is not the assembly of the 1st century believers.

The “church” model makes it extremely difficult to show love to an entire assembly. Therefore, “the least of these” are easily left out. The ekklesia on the other hand, makes love, humility and sacrifice a daily way of life.

 

Punishment for the Unrighteous

It is even more profound when we look at the condemnation for not treating our brothers right!

Mat 25:41

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

Mat 25:45
And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

 

 

The Church of Today

So we have almost all assemblies today which are a far cry from the first new covenant assembly in the book of Acts. Back then in the biblical assembly, everyone in the assembly had everything in common so the least of the assembly should not lack. The exception of course, is if the person’s lacking was due to laziness (2 Thess 3:8-12).

Today in the most part, pastors get all the attention, all the provision. Pastor is like an idol. Focus is placed on tithing so the pastor can be comfortable and we keep tithing and making offerings and sowing seeds even if pastor is living way above the standard of the congregation.

The poorer, struggling members who really need help? That is not our problem. Every man to their own struggle. As long as Pastor is taken care of, everything is alright.

The least in the assemblies are the ones who will be condemning followers of Yah’shua on that great day of separation (sheep and the goats). This is because brothers and sisters in the church did not provide for the least of them when they could. Sadly, Pastor becomes the ‘fatted calf’ whilst the least in the assembly are given little attention.

The ‘culture’ of ‘church’ is simply not one of caring and sharing for all.

 

Church Historically False

Of course it is a historical fact that the church was created by the Roman Catholic system. It was based upon the pagan tradition of worship in buildings.

These buildings of the false church system have been made great masterpieces complete with their pagan symbols embedded in the architecture. That is another story in itself.

 

Direct Connection Between the Type of Assembly We Attend & Whether Or Not We Will Be Sheep or Goats

So right away we plainly see a direct correlation between the type of assembly we attend and whether or not we will be condemned for mistreating our brothers and sisters. It is a powerful factor in determining whether we end up as sheep or goats.

So, next time someone says, it doesn’t matter which “church” you go as long as ‘XYZ,’ tell them no, no, no! Direct them to Matthew 25 and how it shows up the false church system.

Matthew 25:31-46 therefore shows what we preach here on Just a Word, that the modern church is a false institution.

 

Conclusion: Matthew 25 Shows Up the False Church System

Most importantly, the parable shows us how dangerous it is to follow the church model and ignore the biblical called out ecclesiastical assembly.

Hence, contrary to what many Christians say, the type of assembly DOES MATTER. Why? The type of assembly is what will determine our way of life.

The way of life we should be living is evident when we look at the fundamentals of Matthew 25:31-46:

1) hungry in need of food
2) thirsty in need of drink
3) a stranger in need of welcome
4) naked in need of clothing
5) sick in need of a visit
6) Persecuted (in prison) in need of a visit

We see that these are easy to achieve in an ekklesia or set apart assembly (see table above), but very, very difficult to achieve in a ‘church.’ This is because the ‘church’ is heavily based on ‘my’ needs instead of on ‘our’ needs.

Ignoring these things listed in the Matthew 25 parable for the least of those in our assemblies (Mat 25:40) is a sure ticket to the lake of fire (Mat 25:45).

 

The Church Delusion

Why all this then? Why is the church such a powerful institution: the bedrock of the greatest religion on earth? How can we say in all fairness then that the church is false if it is so powerful and continues to thrive?

 

As one man said to me on the street,

Are you saying that the thousands of Christians in Jamaica that attend churches are all deceived?

Along the same line, in response to our previous article, a Ghanaian pastor said to me on our Facebook page:

I doubt if this article has enough strength to prevail against the Church. Its been centuries since Christians have suffered such attacks…yet we stand. Yet we see the power of God everyday.

But of course the article cannot prevail against the church. The deceiver has to have his way:

Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Now let’s see why the church will still see the power of ‘God’ everyday.

It might sound harsh, but YHWH will let us believe a lie if we refuse to believed the truth. Mind you, he will send people to tell us the truth (as he has done here today).

Indeed he gave us all the bible so we can compare and find his truth (the book of Acts alone shows ‘church’ to be false).

He also gave us the spirit of truth (Holy Spirit) as a witness (Acts 5:32) and to bring us into all truth (John 16:13). As believers therefore, we all have a witness. We have no excuse.

But if we refuse to listen, the lie that we love will seem like the truth.

Psa 81:11 – 12 But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me. So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

2Th 2:10 – 12 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause YHWH shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Therefore, only a few people will take heed to biblical truth. Most of us will choose the lie: and enter in through the wide gate. No wonder the Messiah said:

Mat 7:14
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Come out from among them and be ye separate (2 Cor 6:14-18)!
