SPIRITUAL MEANING BEHIND FASTING
The spiritual meaning behind fasting is not so understood as we think it is. We know that we fast for certain things, but do we understand it beyond starving ourselves?
Basically, fasting is abstaining from food and sometimes water.
But today, we take a deeper look into fasting from a spiritual perspective as it pertains to our relationship with the Most High.
Why is this distinction of the natural and spiritual important? Because we know that the world also focuses on fasting for its natural benefits. Fasting for weight loss or to cure sicknesses are fine examples. But our focus is on the deep spiritual advantages of fasting.
Well, after doing a fast and feeling as if I had accomplished nothing, the Most High led me to speak about fasting. This was presented in this Sabbath teaching.
This podcast episode is a journey through people in the bible who were actually fasting and what came of it. This is so that we can learn more about fasting beyond that which we are used to. We will get to learn the true spiritual meaning behind fasting.
