WHO ARE THE EDOMITES TODAY?

Who are the Edomites today? Who are the Edomites in today’s world? Who are the descendants of the Edomites today?

These questions are so often asked and debated. This is a result of two main schools of thought that have emerged. One is that Esau (Edom) is the white man and the other is that he is the Arab.

CLAIMING RACISM TO HIDE THE TRUTH?

Let’s face it. Reading the bible and realizing that one is a descendant of Esau is not a pleasant feeling. Hence when it is stated that Esau is a particular people, the typical response is to cry racism. This therefore creates “noise” with the effect of totally ignoring the truth of who the Edomites are today.

We here at Just a Word are not racist, neither do we believe all Edomites are doomed (see Amos 9:11-12). There is even have an Edomite in our assembly who we love as a sister. Just a Word does not hate the children of Esau, which is forbidden in the Torah (Deut 23:7). Hence we merely speak the truth, as we are called to do.

Indeed, we were warned that if we love or make a lie, we cannot enter the kingdom, so we must believe this to be the truth, or we are doomed.

Rev 22:15  For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

WHAT IF I KNOW THE TRUTH AND DO NOT SPEAK IT?

Now what if I know the truth and do not speak it? There is a severe judgment hanging over Edom, and most Edomites do not know what is awaiting them! Most are comfortably awaiting a rapture, and confident in being grafted in, and neither Jew nor Greek.

However, since most do not know what it truly means to be grafted in, which is to unite with his people! Hence, they must be told who they are and what awaits them. Otherwise I am in trouble, because…

Eze 3:18  When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

So because I am seeking eternal life and do not want the punishment, let’s get started.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT THAT WE KNOW WHO ARE THE DESCENDANTS OF THE EDOMITES TODAY?

But, why is it important that we know who are the modern-day descendants of the Edomites today?

When one gets a deep understanding of the word, one will see that Esau will be the one ruling this earth in the end time.

2 Esdras 6:9
For Esau is the end of the world (this age), and Jacob is the beginning of it that followeth.

It will also help to confirm who the children of Israel are because of the perpetual hatred that Esau has for Israel (Obadiah 1:10-14). According to scripture, this will play out to the very end until Edom is recompensed at the very hands of his brother whom he hated:

Oba 1:18  And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them, and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for YAHUAH hath spoken it.

So the first clue is that Esau will be the nation of people who are ruling the world, and they will have an obvious, inexplicable perpetual hatred for one nation of people, who will be in captivity among them (Jer 17:4).

Living among these end-time Edomites would be Israelites which they would have taken into captivity with ships (Deut 28:68). The Edomites are the perpetual enemies of the sons of Jacob. Isn’t it written in the book of Jasher?

Jasher 58:28
But from that day forward the children of Esau hated the sons of Jacob, and the hatred and enmity were very strong between them all the days, unto this day.

THE WORLD IS BLINDED, BUT ESAU IS BARE TO THE ELECT

So just as to the world, there is no clear-cut indication as to where the children of Israel are today; so also to the world, there is also no clear indication as to where the children of Esau (Edomites) are today.

However, is this really so? Is everyone blinded as to who Esau is? Is Esau really hidden from the elect of YAHUAH, his chosen remnant who he shows his word (Psa 147:19-20)?

On the contrary, scripture tells us that Esau is bare and will NOT be able to hide! So how can he be hidden from the elect of YAHUAH, from among the children of Israel? Who are the Edomites today?

Jer 49:10  But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.

So if he shall not be able to hide, how can he be hidden from the very elect whom it is not possible to deceive (Mat 24:24)?

WHO ARE THE EDOMITES TODAY? ESAU IS BARE

So, with that in mind, a careful look at the verse above gives us a few clues:

1. Esau is bare (plain to see).
2. The things he does will be plain to see and will show who and where he is (his secret places are uncovered).
3. He shall not be able to hide (so there is actually no mystery).
4. His seed is spoiled (mingled with other nations),
5. He is not: means he seems to have vanished, not seen for how he originally looked or where he originally dwelled.

So giving a preliminary summary of Jeremiah 49:10?

THE SPOILING OF ESAU’S SEED

Esau will be plain to see and the things he does will reveal who he is, even though he mixed in with other nations and will not be seen for how he originally looked or found where he originally lived, he will not be able to hide!

In other words, Esau did a disappearing act on us all, but he cannot be hidden, because of his nature.

So let us see where the mingling of his seed really manifested (although it started when he took wives of the children of Canaan). Isn’t it written in the Book of Jasher (see precedences in 2 Sam 1:18, Josh 10:13)?:

Jasher 90:7 And the children of Chittim (Kittim) continued their pursuit of Edom, and they smote them with a great slaughter and Edom became subject to the children of Chittim.

8 And the children of Chittim ruled over Edom, and Edom became under the hand of the children of Chittim  and became one kingdom from that day.

9 And from that time they could no more lift up their heads, and their kingdom became one with the children of Chittim.

Chittim goes back to the Greeks, Romans, Macedonians, Cypriots, Assyrians, and had spread themselves all over the nations we have today. Interestingly for the purpose of this article?

Kittim end up appointing Zepho, son of Eliphaz and grandson of Esau, as their king, with the title Janus Saturnus. The first king of Rome, Romulus, is made in this account to be a distant successor of this line. Source.

EDOM: THE BORDER OF WICKEDNESS

Who are the current day Edomites? Indeed, it is really not hard to see who Esau is. As a matter of fact, it is easier to find the descendants of Edom than it is to find the children of Israel. I will let you deduce who these people are from the following verses.  First of all, Job told us this:

Job 9:24  The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of the judges thereof; if not, where, and who is he?

So the earth is in the hand of the wicked. Now the next relevant question is, who is the chief of the wicked of this earth according to the Bible? Let’s see:

Malachi 1:4  Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith YAHUAH TSABVA’OTH, They shall build, but I will throw down; and THEY SHALL CALL THEM, THE BORDER OF WICKEDNESS, and, The people against whom YAHUAH hath indignation for ever.

ESAU IS RULING THE EARTH TODAY

So if the world is given into the hand of the wicked and Edom SHALL BE called the border of wickedness, then who are the Edomites today? Surely it is not the Arab! The Arabs have wealth, but only control the oil wealth of the world. They do not have control of the world! The world is not in their hands.

Let me give you another hint.

2 Esdras 6:9
For Esau is the end of the world (this age), and Jacob is the beginning of it that followeth.

The meaning of “the world” there is “this age.”

If Esau is the end of this age, it means Edom will be ruling this age until Jacob takes over to start the coming age!

Now Jacob (Israel) has not yet taken over as all the prophecies for the gathering of Israel and the return of their Messiah have not yet been fulfilled.

Therefore, Esau must still be ruling this age today. If you don’t get that, let us recap what the preceding verses are saying.

The earth is given into the hand of the wicked in this age, and Esau shall be called the border of wickedness (in this age). That means that Esau will be ruling this earth until Jacob is given the rulership. The Arabs are not the nation of people who are ruling the earth! We continue on page 2.
