CROSSING OVER TO THE HEBREW SIDE
So now that we have laid that foundation, let us get to this absolutely deceptive article in The Land of Honey blog. It is full of lies and false claims encouraging the grafted in Gentiles that they can become Hebrews.
I got stirred by a certain Facebook post in which everyone from several nations were using this article as fodder to say all one needs to be a Hebrew is to “cross over.” In fact, they say anyone can choose to be Hebrew.
Let us examine some of the absolutely blatantly false statements.
HEBREW IS NOT ANOTHER WORD FOR JEWISH
But let’s get back to how they started the article entitled Crossing Over To The Hebrew Side:
Hebrew is not another word for Jewish.
First of all, the suffix “ish” in the word Jewish implies that the Jew-ish are not the real Jews. This suffix has several meanings, all telling us they are not authentic:
“after the manner of,” “having the characteristics of,” “like” (babyish; girlish; mulish); “inclined or tending to” (bookish; freakish); “near or about” (fiftyish; sevenish).
Therefore, to begin, the Jew-ish are not Hebrews. They are not the descendants of Eber, the grandfather of Abraham, from where we get the word Hebrew.
Eber was the father of Terah, the father of Abraham, the father of Yitschaq, the father of Ya’aqov who is Yashar’al, the father of Yahudah (Judah) from where we get the English name Jews.
So, the true Yahudiym (Jews) are Hebrews, the descendants of Jacob (Abraham’s grandson).
A Jew is therefore a Hebrew, but not all Hebrews are Jews. Therefore, the name Hebrew is and can be used for a descendant of Judah.
So she is technically right in saying Hebrew is not another word for Jewish.
HEBREW IS NOT A BLOODLINE?
Now here is a lie of monumental proportions! She went on to say that being Hebrew is not being born of a specific bloodline.
It’s not being born to a specific bloodline.
What a lie!
That is already rendered a fallacy by what we just stated. about the lineage of Eber, down to the children of Israel.
Let me repeat. Hebrew is a bloodline, coming from Eber, the grandfather of Abraham. It has been used to identify with his physical descendants throughout the Bible.
The first time ‘Hebrew’ appears Biblically is in Genesis/Bereshith 14:13, referring to, “Abram the Hebrew.”
‘Hebrew’ is Strong’s number 5680 and means ‘one from beyond’ or ‘one who has crossed over.’ In Hebrew, the word is spelled: עִבְרִי
SPELLING OF THE WORD HEBREW
She rightly spelled the word Hebrew or more literally, Abry. It is from the Hebrew letters ayin, beth, resh and yod.
If we look at the spelling of Eber (Aber) below (Strongs number 5677), we see that it is actually the same as Hebrew, except the word Hebrew has the yod at the end. This is proof that Hebrew is indeed derived from Eber!
Remember that biblically, people are called by the name of a significant family member from which they have descended. Generations after them continue to be called that name.
CAN WE CHOOSE TO BE HEBREW?
And it is not just a language to speak. Hebrew is a step you can choose to take; a lifestyle that you can live.
Crossing over. Hebrew is an action.
That is another blatant lie.
Hebrew is not:
- A step
- Something we can choose
- A lifestyle
- An action
HEBREW IS A NOUN
Crossing over is an action, but it does not mean one who has accepted a belief becomes a physical Hebrew people.
Abram was called Hebrew after he left his father’s house, in his home city of Ur. YHWH told him to leave all that was familiar behind. Abram was obedient to YHWH and then was called an Hebrew.
Oh boy. Again, Hebrew was not a title one gets as a result of making a decision! It was a family name!
Genesis 14:13
And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram.
Here again, the name Hebrew is used to describe a people. Notice how reference is made above to the family of Mamre (the Amorite). That shows that reference to Abraham in this verse was also in reference to family (Eber his grandfather, from where we get Hebrew).
Reference is always made in the Bible to family. The son of, the brother of. This is because the Bible is about nations, not a religion.
In fact, there is nowhere in scripture where there are spiritual Hebrews. They were a physical family of people.
Gen 39:17
And she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, which thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me:
This is a lie of lies, that one can choose to be Hebrew. We have already shown that Abraham was called a Hebrew because he descended from Eber. The blog post continued.
What did Abram cross over from? Joshua 24:2 says that his father, Terah, worshipped other gods, and it’s probably safe to say he wasn’t the only member of the community to do so. Abram left the idol worship and crossed over to YHWH.
HEBREW IS AN ADJECTIVE
So Hebrew is a noun, the name of a people, but it is also an adjective that describes a language or a people:
Hebrew (adjective)
in or relating to the ancient language of the Jewish people, or the modern form of it, which is an official language of Israel:There were Hebrew inscriptions on the walls.
a Hebrew publication/manuscript
So it is not an adjective thart desribes an action that
THE MOST HIGH WANTS US ALL TO BECOME HEBREW?
YHWH wants all of us to become Hebrew. To leave behind society’s norms and the man-made traditions of Judaism and Christianity and to cross over into what the Scriptures actually say.
Abraham wasn’t born a Hebrew. He became it when he left his own ways to follow YHWH’s. You can become it too.
Along with the lie that Abraham was not born a Hebrew, she is encouraging everyone to become Hebrew! Not only that, but she is adding to the word that the Most High wants us all to become Hebrews! The Most High who said he is the Aluahym of Israel and none other now wants everyone to be Hebrew?
Joe 2:27 (KJV) And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am YAHUAH THY GOD, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
The Most High who separated men according to the number of the children of Israel, wants everyone to be Hebrew? What a lie!
Deu 32:8 When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.
This is yet another case of attempted identity theft. Notice I say attempted. This time they will not succeed in stealing our identity as the children of Israel are now awakening to the truth.

SPIRITUAL HEBREW?
Spiritual Hebrews? This is oh so not true. and there is nowhere in scripture that even implies that there are spiritual Hebrews.
Indeed, in Philippians 3, Sha’ul used the word Hebrew to describe himself in the flesh.
Php 3:5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
Phi 3:7-8 then went on to count Hebrew (in the flesh) as a loss for gaining Mashiach:
Php 3:7-8 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Mashiach. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Mashiach Yahusha my King: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Mashiach,
So people from other nations gaining HaMashiach do not become Hebrews, you become a part of the one body (Eph 4:4-6). Remember, if the grafted in Gentile (who is not an Israelite gentile) makes it in the kingdom, he or she cannot be above an Israelite.
See: Am I a Priest: Why Gentiles Cannot Be Priests of the Most High.
STRANGERS CANNOT BE ABOVE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL IN THE KINGDOM
Deu_17:15 Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom YAHUAH thy ALUAHYM shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.
Indeed, you can only be above an Israelite when the children of Israel are under the curses for disobeying the Most High:
Deu_28:43 The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
So thinking a stranger can become an Israelite is only wishful thinking.
Strangers remain strangers who join themselves to Israel or sojourn among Israel.
Therefore, a gentile calling him or her self Hebrew or Israelite is stealing the identity of YAHUAH’S chosen people whom he promised to gather in the last days from among the heathen. Why is it identity theft?
One can only be a Hebrew by descent (descendant of Eber). It is the same for being an Israelite: it means being a descendant of Jacob (Israel)/
Exodus 12:48“And when a stranger sojourns with you and shall perform the Passover to יהוה, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and perform it, and he shall be AS A NATIVE in the land. But let no uncircumcised eat of it.
49“There is one Torah for the native-born and for the stranger who sojourns among you.”
Indeed, but it doesn’t stop there. One Torah for the native born and the STRANGER who sojourns. That does not make you receive the DNA of an Israelite. You remain a sojourner, not become an Israelite. Israelites are through the bloodline of Jacob. You can join to them, but you cannot become them.
