2026-2027 FEAST DAYS CALENDAR PRESENTATION

The 2026-2027 Feast Days Calendar? Every year when it comes to the time of the calendar, there is an apprehensive feeling, of an enormous, overwhelming challenge before me. Up to the day before yesterday (September 12), I had no idea about the dates or even how to approach the calendar.

That was, until I realized that from the previous year, the foundation was already set and all I had to do was to continue it.

The first day (new year’s day) of last year’s calendar began on September 21, 2025. Many times during the year, he gave us confirmation that the feast dates were correct! Up to the last feast we kept on August 27 (Purim), the night of the last day was surprisingly a lunar eclipse.

By the way, this is a reminder that because we believe the promised land is in the south and we look to the land from whence we were carried captives, we follow the time in the south, not in the northern “hemisphere.”

FIRST DAY OF THE YEAR? EQUINOX VS EQUILOX

So if we follow the calendar from last year, then the first day for the upcoming year would be September 20th, 2026. However, I initially thought that we were moving too far away from September 23rd, which I know is the usual time of the equinox in South Africa. So that single thought stalled me, until I decided to check the equilux.

 

An equilux is the specific date when day and night are of exactly equal length, a phenomenon that occurs twice a year but does not coincide with the equinox. 
 While the equinox is a single astronomical moment when the Sun crosses the celestial equator, the equilux is the day when sunrise and sunset are exactly 12 hours apart. – Google Search.

 

The equilux is what confirms the start of the year. This is the first month that Enoch speaks about below. The month begins with equal days and equal nights of sunlight.

 

Enoch
72.5 The wind blows the chariots on which it ascends, and the Sun goes down in the sky and returns through the north in order to reach the east, and is led so that it comes to the appropriate Gate and shines in the sky.
72.6 In this way it rises in the first month, in the large Gate, namely; it rises through the fourth of those six Gates that are towards the east.
72.7 And in that fourth Gate, through which the Sun rises in the first month, there are twelve window-openings from which, whenever they are opened, flames come out.
72.8 When the Sun rises in Heaven it goes out through that fourth Gate for thirty days, and exactly in the fourth Gate, in the west of Heaven, it goes down.
72.9 And in those days the day grows daily longer, and the night grows nightly shorter, until the thirtieth morning.

 

Then, at the end of the year? Days and night are equal to end and start the year.

72.31 And on that day, the Sun rises from the second Gate, and sets in the west, and returns to the east, and rises in the third Gate for thirty one mornings, and sets in the west of the sky.
72.32 And on that day the night becomes shorter, and amounts to nine parts, and the day amounts to nine parts, and the night becomes equal with the day. And the year amounts to exactly 364 days.
72.33 And the length of the day and the night, and the shortness of the day and the night – they are different because of the journey of the Sun.

 

So I was reminded that this should be the case. Hence, I went to look for the date when there are equal days and equal nights.

To my surprise, the calendar that we had continued seamlessly! The equilux was between the 19th (when we figured the year ended) and the 20th (when we believed the year begins). That is when we see equal night and day!

Take a look below. This was taken from a website that turned up in a Google search. The name of the website is Timebie.

 

As you can see, that is the most matching time. Hence we have the start of the year confirmed as September 20, 2026!

THE SUN AND THE MOON HAVE DIFFERENT MONTHS

Although we do not want to revisit old calendar teachings that we did before, a very important thing to understand, is that both the sun and the moon have differing months. In other words, their months last different periods of days.

 

 

For the moon, her months are different. They fall short of the sun’s months.

The Book of Enoch (specifically the Astronomical Book, chapters 72–82) establishes that the moon’s month is distinct from the sun’s month in both duration and structure. The sun’s year consists of 364 days, divided into four seasons of 13 weeks (91 days each), with months typically lasting 30 days and one 31-day month per season to complete the quarter. 

In contrast, the moon’s month is variable, lasting either 29 or 30 days, resulting in a lunar year of 354 days.  This creates a 10-day annual discrepancy between the solar and lunar cycles.  The text explains that over five years, the moon falls behind the sun and stars by 30 days (6 days per year), and over eight years by 80 days. – Google Search.

Hence we have to appreciate the use of both the sun’s months as well as the months of the moon.

THE MONTHS OF THE SUN

For the sun? The sun’s months are used in the division of the year.

The months of the sun are numbered according to the equinoxes or solstices. Here the months are used to divide the year into seasons (divisions of days).

For each of the 3 season, there are months of 30, 30, 31 days, making it 91 days for each season. Four seasons for the year makes that 364 days. These days of the sun are fixed and never change.

THE MONTHS OF THE MOON

For the moon, her months are there for signs, for seasons (feasts), and for declaration of times.

Sir 43:6  He made the moon also to serve in her season for a declaration of times, and a sign of the world. 
Sir 43:7  From the moon is the sign of feasts, a light that decreaseth in her perfection. 
Sir 43:8  The month is called after her name, increasing wonderfully in her changing, being an instrument of the armies above, shining in the firmament of heaven; 
Sir 43:9  The beauty of heaven, the glory of the stars, an ornament giving light in the highest places of the Lord. 

 

THE SUN AND MOON IN THE CALENDAR

So the sun brings in the 364-day year from spring equilux to spring equilux. The suns month divides the year into four seasons of 91 days, which constitute the four seasons of the year: spring, summer. autumn. winter. There is the spring equinox, autumn equinox, summer solstice and winter solstice.

But the Most High gave his people a sign called the moon, which declares times and his feasts. The calendar is based on the synchronization of these two “timepieces.”

NEW MOON BEGINS THE MONTH

The new moon begins the month.

And on the first day it is called the New Moon, for on that, daylight rises on it.

A 2% moon illumination occurs during the Waxing Crescent or Waning Crescent phases, typically within the first or last few days of the lunar cycle (lunar age ~1–2 days or ~27–28 days). 
 At this stage, only a sliver of the moon’s disk is lit by the sun, appearing as a thin crescent visible shortly after sunset (waxing) or before sunrise (waning). – Google Search

THE FIRST MONTH – FIRST NEW MOON

The first new moon of the year is on new moon day, October 11, 2026. This is the first new moon after the start of the year.

Please understand that the day begins in the mornings. Hence if you look at the illustrations above, 4 am on the 12th of October in this world, is biblically still the day before, because morning of the coming day has not yet come to light.

Hence we see that though on October 11 at 7 am, it is still only 1%, by 1:30 am going toward the next day, it is already 2% illuminated. New moon. By 4 am before it begins to light toward the next day, it is at 3%.
