WHY THE SEVEN-DAY SABBATH CYCLE FROM CREATION REMAINS UNCHANGED
In the first book of the bible, The Most High, YAHUAH Tsaba’oth, gave us an original sabbath. This was after he created the earth in six days, then he rested on the seventh day from all his works. That seventh day is called the sabbath.
Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day Aluhym ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And Aluhym blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which Aluhym created and made.
LUNAR SABBATH SAYS THIS WAS CHANGED
On the other hand, today, lunar sabbath keepers say it was changed.
Why?
In order to accommodate the calculations for a lunar sabbath, they have to have a first week of the month that is different from the other weeks in the month. The first week must be of eight (8) days.
According to them, new moon day is day one, then six (6) working days, then the seventh (7th) day is a sabbath.
That is the eight days.
So, they cannot stick to a continuous seven day cycle, or their calculations will be out.
But here below we showed what scriptures says a week will actually be.

SHOW ME WHERE THE SEVEN-DAY SABBATH CYCLE HAS REMAINED UNCHANGED!
So the lunar sabbath people put the onus on those who believe in the unbroken weekly cycle. They say nowhere in the scripture does it say the weekly cycle was unbroken.
Really?
Although the onus is really on them to prove that it was broken, we will prove today that it was never broken nor meant to be!
PROOF FROM THE BIBLE
Fortunately, there is plenty of proof. We at Just a Word, are holding the Most High to be true when he said:
Exo_31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
So it gets very interesting when we look at the meaning of the word perpetual.
H5769
עֹלָם עוֹלָם
‛ôlâm ‛ôlâm
o-lawm’, o-lawm’
From H5956; properly concealed, that is, the vanishing point; generally time out of mind (past or future), that is, (practically) eternity; frequentative adverbially (especially with prepositional prefix) always: – always (-s), ancient (time), any more, continuance, eternal, (for, [n-]) ever (-lasting, -more, of old), lasting, long (time), (of) old (time), perpetual, at any time, (beginning of the) world (+ without end). Compare H5331, H5703.
Total KJV occurrences: 438
Perpetual means eternity, always, continuance, eternal, for ever, everlasting, (from the) beginning of the world, without end.
Wow.
Undoubtedly, there is plentiful evidence right there that it was never to be changed!
Eternity.
For ever.
Everlasting.
Without end.
CONFIRMATION IN THE BOOK OF JUBILEES
Furthermore, in the book of Jubilees it also confirms this.
Jubilees 2:1 And the malak of the presence spoke to Mosheh according to the word of YAHUAH, saying: Write the complete history of the creation, how in six days YAHUAH ALMIGHTY finished all His works and all that He created, and kept Shabbat on the seventh day and hallowed it for all ages, and appointed it as a sign for all His works.
Hallowed it for all ages means the same thing as perpetual.
IS THE MOST HIGH A LIAR?
Unfortunately, asking us to give proof that the sabbath has never been changed is like asking us to prove that the Most High was telling the truth.
He told us it was forever, eternal, perpetual, everlasting, etc. and they are saying, “prove it!”
That is sad.
But we hold him to be true.
The real onus is on them is to prove that the Most High was or is a liar.
But we know he cannot lie.
Tit 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which Aluah, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
A DIFFERENT SABBATH GIVEN TO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL?
Another of their claims?
Someone I spoke with also told me that the sabbath was not given to man until the children of Yasharal got it. That is because the bible did not speak about the sabbath after creation until in Exodus, through Moses.

They are therefore assuming that in Exodus 12, when YAHUAH told Moses this is the beginning of months, that it was a new sabbath being given to the Israelites, now being based off the moon cycle.
Where that came from I don’t know. Who told that to them? Where is the proof?
There is no proof of this being something new!
PROOF OF RESTORATION TO THE OLD PATH FOR THOSE IN EGYPT
Since we are only assuming that the sabbath day was something new, we have to accept the reality was that the Israelites were coming out of polluted Egypt where they had learned the ways of the heathen. The Most High was now putting them back on the real biblical calendar.
It was nothing new. They were simply being restored, as he is doing to us today. Only today, we individually have to seek him with all our hearts.
Jer 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Jer 29:14 And I will be found of you, saith YAHUAH: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith YAHUAH; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
So, do we have proof of that he was simply restoring them to the original order and not to a new order?
Yes.
There has always been a standard of righteousness from Noah that our forefathers strayed away from, and had to be brought back on the right path. Take a look.
Book of Jubilees 6
16 He set His bow in the cloud for a sign of the eternal covenant that there should not again be a flood on the earth to destroy it all the days of the earth.17 For this reason it is ordained and written on the heavenly tablets, that they should celebrate the “Feast of Weeks” in this month once a year, to renew the covenant every year.
18 And this whole festival was celebrated in heaven from the day of creation till the days of Noah -twenty six jubilees and five weeks of years [1309-1659 A.M.]: and Noah and his sons observed it for seven jubilees and one week of years (350 years), till the day of Noah’s death, and from the day of Noah’s death his sons did away with it until the days of Abraham, and they eat blood.
19 But Abraham observed it, and Yitschaq and Yacob and his children observed it up to your days, and in your days the children of Yisrael forgot it until you celebrated it anew on this mountain.
20 And do you command the children of Yisrael to observe this festival in all their generations for a commandment unto them: one day in the year in this month they shall celebrate the festival.
21 For it is the “Feast of Weeks” and the “Feast of First Fruits:” this feast is twofold and of a double nature: according to what is written and engraved concerning it, celebrate it.
See that? Even though this was speaking of a particular feast, please get the understanding.
This was a narration to Moses, letting us know (in verse 19) that the way of the Most High (which includes his sabbaths) were kept up until the time of Moses. Then the children of Yasharal (who were in Egypt) forgot it. Then, we have the instructions in verse 20 above, to command the children of Yasharal to go back to the order. It is similar to this:
Jer 6:16 Thus saith YAHUAH, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
ABRAHAM WAS NOT AN ISRAELITE BUT HE KEPT THE SABBATH
Now to add to that restoration, our father Abraham was not an Israelite, but he kept the sabbath. That was before our people went down to Egypt.
But you will say, where is it in the bible?
Gen 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
Now an examination of 5 words in this verse above, shows us quite clearly, that Abraham kept the shabbat.
- voice
- charge
- commandments
- statutes
- laws
However, we will look at only 3 of these words. Search the others for yourself with the ruach of discernment.
Proof Abraham Kept The Sabbath
1) Commandments – a command, whether human or divine (collectively the Law).
The sabbath is in the law.
2) Statutes – appointed, custom, manner.
The sabbath is appointed, it is the custom of YAHUAH, his manner.
3) Laws – a precept or statute, especially the Decalogue or Pentateuch.
The Sabbath is in the decalogue (10 commandments) and the Pentateuch or Torah.
It is very explicit there that the sabbath was kept by Abraham even before the children of Yasharal got it.
HE SWORE BY THE ORDINANCES OF THE SUN AND THE MOON THAT THE SEVEN-DAY SABBATH CANNOT BE CHANGED
What’s more, he swore by the ordinances of the moon and stars that they will remain unchanged!
The Most High was speaking through Jeremiah and using the ordinances of the moon and stars to swear that the children of Yasharal will always exist.
Jer 31:35 Thus saith YAHUAH, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; YAHUAH of hosts is his name:
Jer 31:36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith YAHUAH, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
Meaning or ordinances?
H2708
חֻקָּה
chûqqâh
khook-kaw’
Feminine of H2706, and meaning substantially the same: – appointed, custom, manner, ordinance, site, statute.
Total KJV occurrences: 104
So in essence? The Most High was swearing that if the appointed (times), customs, manner of his creation can be changed, then there will not be an Israelite remaining.
But yours truly that is writing this is an Israelite still living today.
So?
That means the ordinances from creation were never changed!
And take heed, if we think he sneakily changed the days of the sabbath without telling us that it has changed, then we make him into a liar.
But he cannot lie!
Tit_1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
And he never changes.
Mal_3:6 For I am YAHUAH, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
And he never does anything without first revealing it to the prophets. Think!
If there was to be this drastic change from creation, would he not let us know so as to avoid confusion?
Amo 3:7 Surely YAHUAH Aluah will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
And he is not the author (causer) of confusion.
1Co 14:33 For Aluah is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
And he didn’t stop swearing there about his creation only in Jeremiah 31:35-36. He did it again. Twice in the same book of Jeremiah.
Jer 33:20 Thus saith YAHUAH; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;
Jer 33:21 Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.
Jer 33:25 Thus saith YAHUAH; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;
Jer 33:26 Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
Look at the operative word.
COVENANT
He is telling us that he made a covenant with day and a covenant with night. That is a basic day which we use to calculate a week of seven days!
So, what is a covenant. What is the meaning as used?
H1285
בְּרִית
berı̂yth
ber-eeth’
From H1262 (in the sense of cutting (like H1254)); a compact (because made by passing between pieces of flesh): – confederacy, [con-]feder[-ate], covenant, league.
Total KJV occurrences: 284
It is basically an agreement he made with day and night.
So does YAHUAH break covenant? If he keepeth covenant with man, why would he break his covenant of day and night?
Deu_7:9 Know therefore that YAHUAH thy Aluah, he is Aluah, the faithful Aluah, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
And by the way, his sabbath is also his covenant.
Isa 56:6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to YAHUAH, to serve him, and to love the name of YAHUAH, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
So if he is letting others come in and keep the feast that was for the children of Yasharal, why is it so far fetched to believe that faithful Abraham kept it?
Think!
SEASON
Another word to look at in Jeremiah 33:20 is season. In this context, we can see that it means “due season.” There is no other word there that really fits the context.
season
H6256
עֵת
‛êth
ayth
From H5703; time, especially (adverbially with preposition) now, when, etc.: – + after, [al-] ways, X certain, + continually, + evening, long, (due) season, so [long] as, [even-, evening-, noon-] tide, ([meal-], what) time, when.
Total KJV occurrences: 296
What is the importance of “due season?”
It is the appointed time that he set from creation.
This is the covenant, that they will always be in their season.
And remember, his ordinance was that there would be a seven day cycle for the shabbat.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day Aluhym ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And Aluahym blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which Aluhym created and made.
CONCLUSION – THE SEVEN-DAY SABBATH CYCLE FROM CREATION REMAINS UNCHANGED
So there is plenty of evidence there that the order has not been changed from creation. All we need to do is dig for truth and not to seek to find unmatched verses that satisfy what we believe to be true. If we do this to our own hurt, then the Most high will furnish us with his evidence.
If we say it has changed, we make him to be a liar, as he would have changed something he said, something he actually swore about. That is not the Most High that I know.
YAHUAH never changes.
So who is trying to change the Most High’s order, and why try to change it?
That should be our next post, YAHUAH willing.
Shalom.
